Initial Idea 2: The Artificial Intelligence (AI)

The Artificial Intelligence

One of the greatest inventions along the existence of humanity is the invention of Computers and information technology, which is the use of computers to process, store, analyse, and exchange all the different sorts of the electronic information and data. Recently, scientist and researcher have made a significant progress which helped to lead the humanity to the next level of development throughout the multiple aspect of the Information Technology such as Software/Hardware development, Artificial Intelligence, and many others.

Lately, the term of Artificial Indigence had spared in the different parts of the society and was known as the science that enable the human being to communicate with the machine in order that it can do a different task and some complex and difficult works for them. However, John McCarthy offers the following definition in this 2004 paper (page 2 ) “ It is the science and engineering of making intelligent machines, especially intelligent computer programs. It is related to the similar task of using computers to understand human intelligence, but AI does not have to confine itself to methods that are biologically observable." (IBM Education, 2022).

AI is in every aspect of our lives wherever you look you will find some electronic gadget, software, or an application that works on the principles of AI for example:

v  Smart homes, cities, and infrastructure:

v  Online shopping and advertising.

v  Web search.

v  Artificial intelligence against Covid-19.

v  Cars (Europarlement, 2022).

The history of the Artificial intelligence is too old, AI first shown up with the ancient Greece. However, since the advent of electronic computing AI faced a great new age full of success. The term AI was first appeared with John McCarthy at the first-ever AI conference at Dartmouth College 1956, after McCarthy also brought the new language of AI “Lips”. And after a year the group of Allen Newell, J.C. Shaw, and Herbert Simon created the first-ever running AI software program. And it kept developing by our great IT engineers since that year till now where we can see it everywhere used by the multibillion companies such as social media companies like Instagram Facebook Twitter Pinterest YouTube, also Some online shops such as Amazon, Alibaba. (IBM Education, 2022).

There are a large different ways and technics in the domain of Artificial I intelligence to deal with the different Data and information. Here are seven major areas of AI:

         I.            Machine Learning: this Branche tend to provide a way to communicate with the machine and teach it to do different tasks throughout different language and methods However t most famous language in the field of machine learning is python.

II.            Robotics: recently robots are developed to do complex tasks without any human intervention through the machine learning and the deep learning.

III.            Deep learning: this Branche also tend to communicate with the machine for a certain purpose however the deep learning is to give only the basic information to the machine and the machine will do the rest through teaching herself.

IV.            Neural Networks: this Branche is a simulating to a certain function in the human brain which is finding the elemental relationships across the bunches of data.

      V.            Expert Systems.

     VI.            Fuzzy Logic.

VII.            Natural Language Processing (Analyticssteps, 2022).

Also, AI have a several uses a benefits as it has a multiple Branches and areas for example:

v  Speech recognition or ASR, which is using a part of the AI branches the natural language processing (NLP) to transcript, in other words changing the human speech into writing. For instance, now almost in every new mobile phone we find the transcript assistant on each keyboard.

v  Customer service, some kind of replacement to the human assistant with a software based on AI concepts. For example, the software assistant on the phones like Siri on the iPhone or Alexa the Home assistant.

v  Some of the Banks applied AI within their data strategy to help detect fraud, assist commercial customers, and provide better insights to their customers.

v  Computer vision.

v  Recommendation engines.

v  Automated stock trading (IBM Education, 2022).

Here are the areas that uses AI the most:

v  Vehicles that are self-aware.

v  The healthcare and medical imaging field.

v  manufacturing and production. Such as manufacturer robots.

v  The retail, shopping, Such as online shops (Surfactants, 2022).

And here are the 7 companies that uses AI the most:

         i.            Amazon: they use AI in their Web services

ii.            Google: they use AI in their cloud platform that provides the client access to internet from anywhere from the world.

iii.            IBM: they use AI in their cloud systems.

iv.            Microsoft: they use AI in their Azure platform.

       v.            Alibaba: they use AI in their Cloud computing services.

vi.            Tesla: they use AI in the electric self-driving cars.

vii.            Neuralink: they use AI in their brainships that still testing for now (Surfactants, 2022).

There are many concerns about the AI as we are witnessing the significant development and the huge progress in AI. If we do not control this progress and put the necessary rules and ethics for using this technology, it might take a different path where there is a disastrous consequences, so that why many individuals has a concerns about this technology which is next:

v  The first idea that appeared on the table is that the AI will kill and eradicate many jobs and take theme from the humans for ever and unfortunately, we are already seeing that for example the cashier in supermarkets a several manufactory workers are now unemployed because robots that works with the principles of AI took their jobs.

v  And the other idea is that the spread of the fake new in the media TV social media, and to give simple example now some groups are trying to spread their propaganda through the social media, and they use the AI bots so sometimes you don4t know if you are talking to a real person or a bot.

v  Also there is a new idea that might concern the new generation which is that this technology might be used for a certain evil reasons that serves their interests for example we take the neuralik company there are some people how suspect their activities and their product that still being under development which is the brain ship that will allow the human to control their emotions and also predict the illness before it interests the human body. But how know if there is another purpose of this ship.

v  And the last thing that I would like to mention is that there is a concern about the robots that work with the basis of deep leaning that one day it will be able to develop its self and create new algorithms by her one and maybe it will be able to take decisions, that why it might be considered as a threat to humanity.
